STATE TECH FAIR IS SATURDAY, MARCH 10, 2018 IN MACON
All first place region winners will represent Hall County Region in Macon at the State Competition.
State judging times are usually posted the first week of March.
All first place winners must have a consent form signed by a parent to participate in state. See form below if needed. Winners letter below highlights information.
2016 - 2017 State Literacy Challenge Winners for Hall County:
State Winner – 9th/10th Division - Charles Thompson – Chestatee High School
Runner Up – 11th / 12th Division - Christopher Spradlin – Flowery Branch High School
Third Place – 7th / 8th Division - Jayden Asper – North Hall Middle School
The Georgia Educational Technology Fair 2017, a project of the Georgia Educational Technology Consortium, has announced the state winners in the category of Technology Literacy Challenge.
In the Technology Literacy Challenge, proctored online exams are given to each interested competitor during the regional competition. The regional winners then compete in another online exam for the state competition. The exams have 50 multiple-choice questions. Questions are vocabulary and concept oriented and come from the following topic areas:
History of computers
Parts of the computer
Peripheral computer devices
Uses and limitations of computers
General uses of common computer applications software
New and emerging technologies
The Internet
Social implications of computers
General programming
In the case of a tie, the fastest time determines the winner.
The other 15 category winners in each of five age divisions will be determined this weekend in Macon. 68 category winners are representing Hall County in this Saturday’s competition.
